Chen Baiqi, Vincent, 2014 graduate of BCom in Marketing (with Distinction), has recently received a scholarship to further his study in Master of Arts in Arts Administration and Policy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), one of the most historically significant accredited independent schools of art and design in the U.S. which provides top graduate programmes. He is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of The Rising Visual Art Studio, a company specialized in providing visual art design services for NGOs in mainland China.

Developed a keen interest in arts at the age of four when started learning Chinese painting and music, Vincent decided to go for the path of arts management for further study instead of following his parents’ advices to study marketing.

“I am very thankful for all of the devoted teachers I’ve met at HKBU. They have given me a lot of advice, and have encouraged me to pursue my dream, ” said Vincent. He revealed that he did not start out as a very top student in his marketing class. He talked to the teachers, took their advice and made tremendous improvement in the end.

Vincent also joined internship programmes of NGOs. From which he understood the importance to balance profit making with social responsibility, which served as a foundation for his business start-up.

“You can learn a lot from your classmates and your teachers. Never stop learning and trying new things. Find something you really like and go for it,” Vincent advised his schoolfellows. “I have found mine, I have striven for it, and I am happy now.”
