Ms. Bicheng Heidi Sun, a Year 4 BBA marketing student of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) School of Business, and fellow team members won the Overall Winner award during the Team Case Competition at the 2017 Global Leadership Summit of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS). The team was selected as the champion based on their innovative and creative solution for their assigned real-world business case, as well as the effectiveness of their presentation. The Summit took place from 2-5 November 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

As a High Honours chapter of BGS, the HKBU School of Business nominated one student to attend the 2017 Global Leadership Summit to advance their leadership development while building relationships with fellow leaders from other chapters around the world. During the Summit, students participated in a carefully cultivated series of leadership sessions designed to build upon each other to culminate in an intensive team competition.

Heidi was thankful to have had the opportunity to attend this meaningful event. “Through the case competition, I got to learn how to use our strengths to work as a team and how to complete tasks under limited time. The three-day Summit inspired me with all the speeches from professionals in distinct areas, and sharpened my practical skillset in business analysis and building new networks. All of these will definitely help my future career.”

The Team Case Competition challenged 35 teams of business students from different universities across the world to collaborate and provide a solution to a complex business scenario. Each team presented to a panel of judges and the five category winning teams showcased their business solutions to the full group of Summit attendees. One overall winning team was selected as the Champion of the competition.
