Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), as a dynamic community of scholars, is committed to a distinctive mission of higher education that incorporates teaching, research and service, and which inculcates in all who participate a sense of value extending beyond the mere acquisition of knowledge. The University seeks to foster and achieve excellence, intellectual freedom and the highest of ethical standards and is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that develops and sustains the whole person in all of these educational endeavours.

In 1956, Hong Kong Baptist College was founded by the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong as a post-secondary college committed to the provision of whole person education. In 1983, Hong Kong Baptist College became a fully-funded public tertiary institution. It gained university status in 1994 and was renamed Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

Today HKBU encompasses eight Faculties/Schools offering a range of undergraduate programmes, associate degree and higher diploma programmes as well as taught postgraduate programmes and research postgraduate programmes leading to the award of master and doctoral degrees. It prides itself on its dual focus on teaching and research and encourages service to society among its staff and students. Over the years, HKBU has remained committed to academic excellence and the development of the whole person, and has gained a reputation as one of Asia’s finest institutions of higher learning.

For more than half a century, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has been at the vanguard of business education in Asia, moulding generations of business leaders. Steeped in a tradition of academic excellence, yet always looking forward to new intellectual horizons, HKBU prides itself in striving to always remain a true pioneer in business education. For our students not only to excel in their careers, but also to shape the world, thinking innovatively is not enough; acting responsibly is the greater challenge. At the School of Business, we are committed to creating a better business environment through responsible business engagement. As proof of our commitment, HKBU was the first university in Hong Kong to join the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and we also co-founded the World Business Ethics Forum (WBEF) with University of Macau.
