| Background |
| Case method has been the most popular and effective teaching method used in Business Schools around the world. As there is an increasing demand for business courses that are more relevant and related to daily needs of business operation, case method of teaching which creates a stimulated environment for students to learn framing problem and exercising judgment, has gained widespread acceptance. The increasing importance of the China market in the world has made China the major target for business development of many enterprises around the world. The need for business education in China has been growing dramatically in the recent years. However, there is a dearth of business cases and research that are specifically generated for China and its closely related markets like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. The School of Business has therefore initiated to set up a Chinese Businesses Case Research Centre to advance knowledge and practice of Chinese business venturing and entrepreneurial practice through stimulating business case studies and high-quality research with main focus on China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Southeast Asian and other locations with Chinese businesses. |
