- Participants will:
- Practice academic research skills
- Learn the conventions of academic writing (citing sources, intellectual property rights, making use of the internet, scholarly publications)
- Discuss assigned readings that model processes and strategies used in academic writing
- Develop active listening skills using conversation, interviews, media broadcasts, lectures, and films
- Learn the conventions of presentations, roundtable or panel discussions and small-group conversation
- Increase academic, professional and everyday vocabulary
- A 5-week programme takes participants’ business English to the next level
- Participants will:
- Study concepts and terminology found in strategic planning, organisation, investment analysis, and developing a business plan
- Participate in lectures, discussions, case studies, readings, and small group work with presentations
- Practice in the case method to explore business strategies and concepts
- Engage in team building and international networking with peers
- Build leadership skills with a ziplining field trip

Courses Available
MBA summer term lasts for two months. It offers one Industry Focus (16 contact hours) and one Track (30 contact hours):

Courses Available
Students can join either the 1-week programme in a country or the full 3-week programme across 3 countries:
- International Business Ethics (20 – 25 June 2022)
- This course is offered by the Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
- Participants will learn more about the ethics of responsible business decisions in a competitive global world, and participants will use major ethical theories to explore specific corporate cases and topics such as rights to privacy, insider trading, whistleblowing, sustainability and more.
- Towards a Circular Economy (27 June – 2 July 2022)
- This course is offered by the Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
- To understand the opportunities and obstacles of adopting circular strategies, participants will play an online simulation game, the Blue Connection, to transit a manufacturing company from a linear to a circular business model.
- Business Model Innovation and Entrepreneurship (4 – 8 July 2022)
- This course is offered by the La Salle Campus Barcelona, Ramon Llull University in Spain.
- Dive into the entrepreneurial process! Participants will learn to identify, develop and assess different business models and marketing strategies, and acquire the mindset and toolset to become a real entrepreneur.
- Bonus Course: Intercultural Readiness Track
- Available for participants who join the full programme of 3-week
- An online intercultural readiness check assessment, intercultural training, reflection exercises and coaching sessions are included. Upon completion, participants will be awarded with an additional certificate at no extra cost.

- As the overseas summer schools / programmes are organised by the overseas universities (not HKBU and not HKBU School of Business), your HKBU insurance does not cover any personal accidents, medical expenses and personal travels when you join the overseas summer schools / programmes. You must purchase, prior to your departure, adequate insurance coverage for your duration of studies at the overseas universities (i.e. your additional insurance purchased must cover your whole period of summer schools / programmes). Meanwhile, most of the overseas universities mention clearly in their websites about the insurance requirements. You must follow the insurance requirements made by the overseas universities before departure.

Eligibility
Students should have attained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 at the time of application for being nominated to join a summer programme.
