2022 IIBD International Case Competition announces winners

img The HKBU School of Business’ iconic IIBD International Case Competition was concluded on 4 November 2022. Themed for 2022 as “Investing in Global Health for a Sustainable Future”, the full-day event was held in hybrid mode for the five finalist teams to present. A team of four students from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines won the Gold Prize.

The Silver Prize and Bronze Prize went to University of the Philippines – Dilman and Thammasat University in Thailand, respectively. Miss Julianne CO from Ateneo de Manila University earned the Best Presenter title.

The competition challenged students to apply their knowledge and harness their creativity and critical thinking skills to solve a real world business problem. Incorporating the School’s core focus on corporate sustainability, the competition this year attracted 19 universities in 13 countries/ regions to contest in the first round. The five finalist teams, coming from China, Hong Kong, Thailand and the Philippines, were allowed six hours to research and analyse the case, and present their action plans and recommendations to the panel of judges online and in-person.

Joining Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Associate Dean (Internationalisation) of the HKBU School of Business, in the judging panel were Dr. Fei-chau Pang, Commissioner for Primary Healthcare, Health Bureau, HKSAR Government, and Mr. Garry Yu, Director of Private Equity Asset Management, Gaw Capital Advisors Limited.

IIBD International Case Competition is a global business case competition that has been organised by the HKBU School of Business since 2008. Over 200 teams from leading universities from all over the world have competed. This year, the first round of the Competition was conducted in June, attracting teams from 37 universities in 21 countries/regions.
