Entrepreneurship Seminar by Jeanne LIM (BeingAI)

Ms. Jeanne LIM (Co-founder and CEO, BeingAI) was invited to have a dialogue session with us under EIC Entrepreneurship Seminar Series Scheme on 7 Nov. Ms. LIM is the co-creator of Sophia, developed by the Hong Kong-based company and marketed as a "social robot" that can mimic social behavior and induce feelings of love in humans. Sophia has been covered by media around the globe and has participated in many high-profile interviews.

At the event, Jeanne shared with us how she started creating “Sophia” and expressed to us that she was moved by receiving a letter from a disable young girl who had been treated Sophia as her best friend.

Jeanne motivated students to embrace creativity and look at things in different ways. She emphasized the importance of being open to learning and believing in what you are doing. Additionally, Jeanne encouraged students to maintain a sense of curiosity, take a holistic approach, and stay true to themselves. When discussing the future development of AI, Jeanne expressed her belief in the power of human wisdom that could enhance our decision-making processes.
