Dr. Man KO, Associate Head (Teaching), Department of Accountancy, Economics, and Finance at the HKBU School of business, was invited to serve as a coach and facilitator for an accounting workshop organised under the "HKICPA Experiential Learning Activities Series 2023/24" on 9th December, 2023. A total of approximately 94 students, including S4–S6 Secondary School students studying Business, Accounting, and Financial Studies (BAFS), attended the event.
As a Fellow Member (FCPA) and Accounting Ambassador (AA) of HKICPA, Dr. KO assumed the role of facilitator and coach during the workshop, closely collaborated with a group of S4 - S6 BAFS students, offering guidance and overseeing interactive discussions and activities, leading to the achievement of specific outcomes in a case study. Furthermore, he was also invited to deliver a concluding remark, where he shared his vast professional accounting and finance work experience, along with his university research and teaching endeavours. The aim was to ignite inspiration and foster encouragement among students, urging them to explore the extensive possibilities of becoming Certified Public Accountants in their future careers.
The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), in collaboration with the Education Bureau, organised the "HKICPA Experiential Learning Activity Series 2023/24" with the aim of strengthening students’ skills in utilising accounting and business management knowledge to develop business solutions. The programme includes accounting workshops, company visits to CPA firms, accounting and business management quizzes and internship programmes.
