BBA’s ESG Workshop Unveils a New Landscape for Sustainable Business

The future of business is not what it used to be – this was the theme of the “BBA Workshop: ESG and Me”, hosted by HKBU School of Business’s BBA in partnership with FDMT on 27th June, 2024. The workshop attracted nearly 60 high school students, all keen on learning about the evolving landscape of business.

Centered around ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics, the workshop aimed to ignite the students’ curiosity about business and sustainability. It also provided valuable insights to help them navigate their future career paths. Participants delved into how businesses are making decisions and seizing opportunities with sustainability as a guiding principle.

“What if the future of business isn’t what you think it is?” This question led to an exploration of the myriad opportunities tied to sustainability and ESG. It became clear to the students that even traditional roles are evolving, as global challenges necessitate both transdisciplinary approaches and cross-sectoral partnerships.

Peering into a greener and more responsible future of business was a key highlight of the event. It emphasised that this shift is not just beneficial for the planet and society, but also a catalyst for exciting career opportunities. The brainstorming sessions were filled with the palpable energy of the students, who asked insightful questions. For many, the event was a revelation, unveiling the vast possibilities their future holds.
