The Career and Alumni Engagement Section of the HKBU School of Business successfully hosted its inaugural Business Career Expo 2024 on 7th November 2024, at the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre and Li Promenade on campus. Under the inspiring theme “Be Your Own Career Coach”, this event created a valuable platform for students to connect with potential employers and explore a wealth of career opportunities.
With an enthusiastic turnout of more than 500 participants, the expo facilitated meaningful exchanges and networking. Attendees had the chance to engage with booths from twelve leading companies across various sectors, gaining valuable insights and connections. Additionally, the School showcased its resources with two dedicated booths: the Career and Alumni Engagement Section (CAES), offering AI prompt tips for job searching and interview preparation, and the BBA Programme, which highlighted the LinkedIn Learning platform for ongoing professional development.
Kicking off at 12:30 p.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m., the event was packed with activities aimed at enhancing students’ career prospects. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as participants engaged in various sessions. A highlight was the Alumni Dialogue Session, moderated by Ms. Yukio YU, a BBA student of Information Systems and Business Intelligence Concentration (ISBI), featuring dedicated alumni speakers Mr. Edward WONG, Management Trainee at Hang Seng Bank Limited and Ms. Anson HUI, Graduate Trainee at The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. Additionally, Mr. Anthony SO, CEO & Co-founder of OnMyGrad, provided insights into the current landscape of Management Trainee and Graduate Trainee Programmes.
