HKBU School of Business Hosts Exclusive CFA Info Session for Aspiring Finance Professionals

The HKBU School of Business, in collaboration with the CFA Institute and CFA Society Hong Kong, hosted an exclusive Info Session for BBA students on 12th September, 2024. This event provided a unique opportunity for nearly 60 attendees to learn about the prestigious CFA programme and its benefits for aspiring finance professionals. Mr. Ryan MAN, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) and BBA Programme Director; Dr. Aries WONG, Senior Lecturer, Coordinator of BBA Concentrations, and Associate Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies; and Dr. Astrophel CHOO, Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the BBA (Hons) Finance Concentration, were also present.
Notable speakers, including outstanding CFA charter holders, shared their journeys in finance, offering insights on how the CFA programme has accelerated their careers and provided valuable tips for CFA Exam preparation. Among the speakers were Wallace CHEUNG, Co-Founder and CEO of InvBots.com and Executive Director of CFA Society Hong Kong, and Janice HON, Associate Manager, Partnerships & Client Solutions, APAC North and Oceania at CFA Institute. The Info Session also covered practical information, including an introduction to the CFA curriculum, exam format, the candidate services and the financial career.
The enthusiastic turnout, with attendees staying until the end despite the event running overtime, demonstrated the Session’s value for students’ professional development and future career paths. The event underscored the School’s commitment to providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, preparing students to excel in the competitive financial services industry.
