On 9 August 2025, representatives from the HKBU School of Business participated in the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: New Opportunities for Youth Forum, themed “Smart Collaboration: Creating a Shared Future — The Power of Generation Z”. Hosted by the Institute of Accountants Exchange (IAE), the forum brought together leading industry professionals, government officials, and student representatives from local universities to explore emerging opportunities in accounting and finance across the Greater Bay Area. Key topics include Hong Kong family office, future career pathways in accounting and finance, innovation through game competitions, and entrepreneurship and personal branding via social media.

As a student delegate of HKBU, Mr. Hugo CHENG, Year-4 BBA student in Accountancy and the President of HKBU Society of Accountancy 2025–26, attended the forum with Dr. Man KO, Associate Head (Teaching) and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance at HKBU School of Business. A key highlight of the event was the launch ceremony of the Youth Development Partnership Programme, where Mr. CHENG was presented with a commemorative plaque, in recognition of his active engagement in youth development efforts, by Dr. David SUN, Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC), and Mr. Chris TANG, President of IAE.

Taking part in the Programme, Mr. CHENG, partnering with students from other local universities, will strengthen inter-university ties and raise awareness among accounting students about the evolving professional landscape of accounting and finance in the Greater Bay Area.
