On 1 November 2025, the HKBU Alumni Association and the HKBU School of Business jointly organised the HKBU Alumni Association 2nd Alumni Forum cum 2025-2026 Event Launch Ceremony Dinner, themed “AI for the Future: Co-creating a New Chapter” in Shenzhen. This year’s event brought together leading scholars and industry practitioners in information technology, as well as distinguished MBA alumni, to discuss cutting-edge AI trends. Nearly 100 prominent business figures and special guests attended, aiming to foster industry collaboration and provide networking opportunities among students and alumni across various levels of study and faculties.
We were honoured to have invited Prof. Christy Cheung, Chair Professor from the School of Business, to share her forward-looking insights on AI in the keynote, addressing technological evolution and the social impact of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in reshaping business value. We also appreciated the sharing of our three seasoned MBA alumni: Mr. Zhu He (MBA 2016), the General Manager of Oriver (Shenzhen) Limited; Mr. Gao Ke (MBA 2013), the General Manager of Skyworth Optical-Electronic Company Limited; and Mr. Wu Weibin (MBA 2005), the Deputy General Manager of China Unicom Guangdong Branch. They shared frontline cases and methodologies on data-driven transformation, generative AI for business, organisational change, and talent development, tackling key challenges in the contemporary business landscape.
In a subsequent panel discussion moderated by Mr. Martin Wong, Adjunct Professor from the School of Business, the panel explored topics such as “Going Global” and the “AI Economy,” offering practical pathways and tools for alumni-led enterprises.
In closing the event, Prof. Zhang Han, Dean of School of Business, introduced the latest developments, including the new taught postgraduate programmes set to launch in 2025/26: DBA, EMBA, the Master’s in Family Office Management, and the Master’s in AI for Business. Special thanks go to Prof. Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, for supporting the event in person to demonstrate the University’s strong commitment to alumni engagement.
The event concluded with lively exchanges and ongoing discussions, as alumni expressed a shared commitment to using AI as a bridge to co-create a new chapter in intelligent innovation.
