The HKBU School of Business recently hosted its Orientation Day for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme. The event, held on 28 August 2025, officially welcomed the largest class in size and the most international cohort in programme history. This marks the commencement of an exciting academic journey for over 480 new BBA students.

The current cohort is particularly notable for its significant international representation, with students coming from a wide array of regions, including Taiwan, Myanmar, Indonesia, South Korea, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, and others. This diversity is expected to foster a vibrant and rich-cultural learning environment within the School.

The Orientation Day commenced with an opening address by Prof. Han ZHANG, Dean of School of Business. Prof. ZHANG underscored the University's commitment to academic excellence and holistic education, encouraging students to actively leverage the numerous opportunities available within and outside the University to enrich their study experience and build professional and transferable skillset.

Mr. Ryan MAN, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) and Director of the BBA programme, subsequently delivered an informative academic briefing. Mr. MAN provided an insightful overview of the BBA curriculum and key aspects of student university life, with useful guidance to assist students in navigating their academic journey at HKBU.  Dr. Aries WONG and Dr. Lucia FUNG, Associate Directors of the BBA Programme, also highlighted key opportunities such as Experiential Learning, Double Degree Programmes, and the Student Ambassador Scheme.

Further equipping the new students as future leaders, guest speakers from the General Education Office (GEO), the Language Centre (LC), and the International Office (IO) conducted joint briefing sessions. They provided essential information on the vast range of university resources and the extensive international exchange programmes.

The formal agenda transitioned into an afternoon of dynamic engagement activities with a collaborative scavenger hunt. Students, divided into groups, familiarised themselves with campus landmarks, kickstarted teamwork and built new connections. Through a series of challenges, they experienced first-hand the BBA spirit: the capacity to transcend boundaries and conquer challenges with resilience and innovation to become future leaders.

The School is excited to welcome this dynamic cohort into its vibrant community. Their journey to becoming the next generation of innovative business leaders officially began.
