Dr. Man KO, Senior Lecturer, Associate Head (Teaching), Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance, shared insights into the dynamic world of accounting and finance with Form 5 students of SKH Chan Young Secondary School on 9th May, 2025. The engaging presentation, titled “Introduction to Accounting and Finance Industry in Hong Kong”, offered students a glimpse into the industry’s importance to Hong Kong’s global financial hub status.

Dr. KO highlighted key industry players, diverse career opportunities, and the challenges and future trends shaping the field. The presentation also introduced HKBU’s BBA (Hons.) undergraduate degree programme.

A lively Q&A session followed, with students demonstrating keen interest in HKBU’s admission requirements to the BBA (Hons.) programme, internship opportunities, and specialised undergraduate studies in accounting, quantitative finance, and data analytics. Inquiries also touched upon pathways to becoming certified public accountants and financial professionals in Hong Kong.
