The HKBU School of Business proudly celebrates the achievement of Year 1 BBA student Yan Shuen CHOW, Jenny, who has been awarded the Endeavour Merit Award (EMA). She is among 130 HKBU students recognised this academic year for their outstanding accomplishments across three categories under the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund: the Belt and Road Scholarship, Scholarships for Outstanding Performance, and the Endeavour Merit Award.

Jenny is the founder of Small Potato BIG Dream, a social enterprise dedicated to promoting inclusive entrepreneurship. Her initiative addresses the employment challenges faced by individuals with special educational needs (SEN) by providing them with culinary, entrepreneurial, and essential soft skills through a unique training café model. Her innovative approach and social impact also earned her the championship title at the School’s Dean's Cup Business Innovation Gymnasium (BIG) 10.0—a platform that fosters student-led business solutions. Jenny joined four other HKBU award-winning student representatives at the scholarship presentation ceremony held on 24 April 2025. The event was officiated by Dr. Yuk Lin CHOI, Secretary for Education, with Dr. Rosa TANG, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, also in attendance to celebrate the students’ achievements.

The Endeavour Merit Award, established to support meritorious post-secondary students with SEN, recognises Jenny’s academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to social impact. The award provides financial support to students pursuing full-time, publicly funded programmes at the sub-degree level and above.
