27 Oct and 3 Nov, 2025
On 27 October 2025 and 3 November 2025, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC) hosted an Entrepreneurship Seminar Series featuring industry leaders.
In the first session, Mr. James Kwan, Chairman of Jumpstart Media, discussed his role as a super-connector, helping founders scale, fundraise, and exit in global markets. Kwan emphasised that “chaos creates openings,” noting that downturns can be opportune moments for building. He urged attendees to prioritise face-to-face interactions over online networking and underscored the importance of safeguarding one’s cap table by choosing partners wisely, avoiding predatory investors, and considering scalable technology from day one, including practical applications of AI.
In the second session, Mr. John Ip, Founder of Mirror Tattoo and Oh My Ink, spoke about his legal knowledge in supporting his research across all areas of business. Ip explained that the term “art tech” generally pertains to consumer-related technology focused on the retail entertainment industry. He encouraged students to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset, emphasising the need to persist, prepare for challenges, and actively pursue their goals.
Both sessions provided students with invaluable insights, fueling their ambition to thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial landscape.
