Igniting the next chapter of HKBU business education in finance management, we celebrated the launch of the revitalised Fund Management Committee (FMC) and reunited with business alumni on the evening of 17 November 2025, in the presence of industry leaders, faculty members, and current Business Administration students. Special gratitude was extended to the education partner of the event, the CFA Society Hong Kong (CFA Society), and the supporting unit, the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI); and Mr. NC Wong and Mr. Dickson Shang, the visionary founding donors of the FMC.

Since 2005, the FMC has been providing a real-world experiential opportunity for investment and fund management. At this significant milestone, the FMC will empower students to engage in practising fund management with a newly earmarked accumulated investment sum across a global investment mix, including local equities, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), and quality foreign securities. The committee will also encompass a broader student base and introduce a new tier of industry training, positioning it as a launchpad for nurturing future finance talents.

In the opening remarks, Prof. Zhang Han, Dean of School of Business, announced the strengthened industry partnerships with the CFA Society and the HKSI to equip our students as future-ready business leaders.  Outlining the School’s strategy and talent pipeline, Prof. Zhang also introduced the new undergraduate concentration in Wealth and Asset Management, and new courses in AI and ESG. There will also be four upcoming taught postgraduate programmes in AI for Business, and Family Office Management, an EMBA in Business and Communication in the AI Age, and a revamped Doctor of Business Administration.

Mr. Kevin Liem, Treasurer of HKBU Council and Court, and Chairperson of the HKSI, shared his excitement about the revitalised FMC vision, and underscored the importance of wealth and family office management in Hong Kong and how HKBU business education is addressing the contemporary landscape.

Subsequently and in closing, Dr. Alvin Ho, President of the CFA Society, and Mr. Ryan Man, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies), delivered a guest sharing and closing remarks respectively to bring the remarkable event to a successful conclusion.

Looking ahead, the School of Business will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and technology for our leading business education in Asia. We thank our visionary donors, dedicated industry partners, and outstanding alumni network for their unwavering support. Together, we are elevating HKBU business education to new heights for the world.
