The spotlight was on HKBU’s School of Business as it celebrated its 66th Commencement at the Academic Community Hall on 6th and 9th June, 2025, honouring a new generation of graduates. Nearly 1,500 final-year students from 12 taught programmes gathered with family and friends to mark the culmination of their academic journeys and the beginning of exciting new chapters.

In his address to the graduating class, Prof. Han ZHANG, Dean of the School of Business, highlighted the importance of transdisciplinary education in today’s rapidly evolving world. He emphasised HKBU’s commitment to nurturing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with critical thinking, adaptability, and empathy—qualities essential for leading in an age shaped by artificial intelligence and constant change.

“Remember that your education at HKBU has equipped you not just to adapt to change, but to drive it, to shape it, and to ensure that it serves the greater good,” he said. He encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and global citizenship as they navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

Four valedictorians, representing both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, delivered heartfelt speeches reflecting on their shared experiences. They expressed deep gratitude for the support of their families and the transformative education they received at the School. Their messages touched on themes of resilience, the courage to forge one’s own path, and the importance of community and belonging. Above all, they spoke of the pursuit of a meaningful life beyond graduation, offering hope and encouragement to their fellow graduates.

The 66th Commencement ceremony marked not only an ending but a beginning for the graduating class of 2025. Equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values cultivated at HKBU, the Class of 2025 is ready to make a meaningful impact on the world. The School of Business looks forward to welcoming them back to campus next year for HKBU’s 70th anniversary celebrations.
