Prof. Howard LING Appointed to Key Advisory and Governance Roles Prof. Howard LING Appointed to Key Advisory and Governance Roles

The HKBU School of Business congratulates Prof. Howard LING, Professor of Practice, on his appointment to two influential advisory positions. These roles reflect his longstanding dedication to education, public service, and cross-sector leadership.

Prof. LING was appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Learning & Teaching Expo (LTE), Asia-Pacific’s premier education event held from 2nd – 4th July, 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Fully supported by the Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government and co-organised by the Smart City Consortium, LTE brings together global thought leaders to reimagine the future of teaching, learning, and digital pedagogy.

In his advisory capacity, Prof. LING played a vital role in shaping the event’s strategic direction—contributing to conference themes, speaker selection, and the development of immersive, socially impactful programming. His appointment complements his existing position on the Board of Hong Kong Education City (EdCity), a publicly funded organisation that co-organised the expo. Through both platforms, he provides strategic advice to the Executive Director and connects charitable foundations and experts to enhance knowledge-sharing at the event.

In addition to his contributions to education, Prof. LING has also been recently appointed as a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel (DCP) under the Social Workers Registration Board. Established through the Social Workers Registration Ordinance, the DCP is responsible for reviewing and investigating complaints lodged against registered social workers, a role that calls for impartial judgment and a deep commitment to upholding professional standards and public trust.

These appointments are more than personal accolades; they directly align with HKBU School of Business’s mission to nurture leaders who create a positive and transformative impact in business and society.
