MBA students of the HKBU School of Business had an exciting opportunity to visit Huolala in Shenzhen (also known as Lalamove in Hong Kong), a global top 100 unicorn company, on 21st February 2025. The visit offered a unique chance to interact with company representatives and explore the workings of this rapidly expanding enterprise.
The visit began with an informative presentation that covered Huolala’s (Lalamove’s) business model, recent achievements, and future plans. Founded in Hong Kong in 2013 and expanding into mainland China in 2014, Huolala (Lalamove) has seen remarkable growth, now valued at USD 10-12 billion and operating in around 400 cities worldwide, including 360 cities in China.
Huolala’s (Lalamove’s) unique corporate culture was introduced, emphasising the company's focus on health through sports. This culture not only enhances employees’ quality of life but also attracts top talent. The company's values—passion, perseverance, humility, and teamwork—embody a spirit of challenge and persistence, which resonated deeply with the students. The visit provided the students with valuable insights and a deeper understanding of how to integrate corporate culture and the business strategy to drive success.
