Ms Chow Yan Shuen Jenny, a second-year Business Administration student from the School of Business, was honoured with the Service Leader Award by the Counselling and Development Centre (CDC) from the Office of Student Affairs. The award ceremony was held on 18 September 2025.
Jenny was recognised for her exceptional leadership and commitment, as one of the five awardees from a cohort of 171 trained captains, in the Mental Health First Aid Captain Programme. Awardees are celebrated for proactively raising mental health awareness and serving as first contact points in respective faculties, halls, or colleges for students in need in the HKBU community.
Each award recipient has received a certificate and a HK$3,000 learning voucher for continuous learning through workshops, courses or study tours.
Jenny is also an entrepreneur who shows relentless contributions to driving social impact and innovation. Her social enterprise, Small Potato BIG Dream, aspires to empower users with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and build towards a more inclusive society. Through culinary and transferable skills development, individuals with ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia will enhance their skill sets in communications and collaboration. In the past, Jenny has been featured in various competitions and awards, including the annual Dean's Cup Business Innovation Gymnasium (BIG) organised by the School of Business and the JingNuiHui Cup 2025, among others.
