Three HKBU School of Business teams earned one silver and two bronze awards for their innovative ventures at the 2025 Jingniuhui Cup. The silver award includes a cash prize of ¥6,000, while each bronze award carries a prize of ¥3,000.

Three teams from HKBU School of Business (the School) earned top honours at the 2025 Jingniuhui Cup and China International College Students’ Innovation Competition on 27 September 2025, by translating their innovative ideas into major accolades. Held at the Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) in Zhuhai, the event featured the School's representatives competing against a strong pool of contestants to secure one silver and two bronze awards.

This remarkable achievement is empowered by the School’s dedicated mentorship programmes. All three finalists teams—Small Potato BIG Dream, ArcPaw, and Audacity—honed their projects within the Dean’s Cup Business Innovation Gymnasium (BIG) 10.0, an incubator for entrepreneurial talent led by Dr. Marta DOWEJKO, Assistant Dean (Global Engagement) and Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EIC).

Showcasing social innovation, the winning projects addressed distinct societal needs:

  • Small Potato BIG Dream (silver award): A social enterprise that empowers individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through hands-on café and workshop training, fostering confidence and valuable life skills.
  • ArcPaw (bronze award): A creative venture offering modular, eco-friendly DIY cat furniture made from recyclable paperboard, enhanced with an augmented reality (AR) preview feature for modern pet owners.
  • Audacity (bronze award): A sustainable sportswear brand providing eco-friendly athletic apparel specifically designed for Hong Kong’s athletes and sports enthusiasts.

At the event, Dr. Marta DOWEJKO highlighted the success of the Dean’s Cup BIG and its role in nurturing transdisciplinary talent and inspiring an innovative entrepreneurial culture.

The Jingniuhui Cup, now in its tenth year, is a key initiative by the Zhuhai High-tech Zone to cultivate entrepreneurial talent and advance the innovation ecosystem in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
