HKBU School of Business Teams Shined at the 2025 Jingnuihui Cup and the CICS Innovation Competition Grand Final

Three HKBU School of Business teams earned one silver and two bronze awards for their innovative ventures at the 2025 Jingniuhui Cup. The silver award includes a cash prize of ¥6,000, while each bronze award carries a prize of ¥3,000. Three teams from HKBU School of Business achieved remarkable success at the 2025 Jingniuhui Cup and the China International College Students’ (CICS) Innovation Competition Grand Final, held on 27 September in Zhuhai. The teams secured one silver and two bronze awards, celebrating and showcasing their social innovations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while promoting a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit among the next generation of student leaders.

Organised by the Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) Innovation Centre, the three winning teams from the Dean’s Cup Business Innovation Gymnasium (BIG) 10.0 participated in the event and competed against a strong field of contestants to attain outstanding results. Dr Marta Dowejko, Assistant Dean (Global Engagement) and Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre in the School, emphasised the flagship competition, BIG, in its crucial role as a launchpad for entrepreneurial success.

The winning teams, each exerting a real-world societal impact, are:

  • Small Potato BIG Dream (Silver Award, with a ¥6,000 cash award, a trophy, and a certificate): A social enterprise that empowers individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through hands-on café and workshop training, fostering confidence and valuable life skills.
  • ArcPaw (Bronze Award, with a ¥3,000 cash award, a trophy, and a certificate): A creative venture offering modular, eco-friendly DIY cat furniture made from recyclable paperboard, enhanced with an augmented reality (AR) preview feature for modern pet owners.
  • Audacity (Bronze Award with a ¥3,000 cash award, a trophy, and a certificate): A sustainable sportswear brand providing eco-friendly athletic apparel specifically designed for Hong Kong’s athletes and sports enthusiasts.

Now in its tenth year, the competition is a key initiative by the Zhuhai High-tech Zone, aimed at cultivating entrepreneurial talent and advancing the innovation ecosystem.
