PhD Business Student Clinched the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Awards 2025/26

Ms. Liang Shuyu, PhD Student from the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems (MMIS), has clinched the third runner-up at the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Awards 2025/26. Ms. Liang Shuyu, PhD Student from the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems (MMIS), has clinched the third runner-up at the Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun PhD Student Research Excellence Awards 2025/26 on 16 October. She was one of the outstanding PhD awardees among the six who showcased social innovation and impact that advances society. 

The funded award organised by the Graduate School celebrates students’ research achievements as a testament to HKBU's commitment to academic excellence.

Ms. Liang’s research is titled “A Typology of AI Threats and Its Divergent Consequences”, providing a comprehensive analysis of next-generation digital security in AI and risk management strategies that mitigate harms related to ethics, privacy and inequality. Her supervised research contributes various fields in society, addressing the implications of AI technology.

At the award presentation ceremony, Ms. Liang also exchanged insights and perspectives with the HKBU research community for her research project at the poster exhibition and networking session.
