The HKBU School of Business kicked off the Fall semester with a vibrant Welcome Tea Party held on campus on 22 September 2025. Hosted by the Mainland & Global Engagement Section (MGES), the event brought together more than 60 new undergraduate and postgraduate students from almost 20 countries, including Nepal, Kazakhstan, Russia, Switzerland, France, the United States, and Vietnam. An ice-breaking activity invited participants to greet one another in their native languages, sparking cross-cultural connections.

Leadership from the School attended to welcome the new cohort and reinforced the School's supportive ethos. In her welcome remarks, Professor Monique Shui-ki Wan, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Studies), emphasised students will be empowered to thrive academically and professionally, and that the event marks the start of opportunities to connect and grow.

Dr Marta Dowejko, Assistant Dean (Global Engagement), encouraged students to build meaningful networks and engage with diverse cultures. Dr Aries Wong, Associate Director of the BBA Programme, shared insights into the School’s dynamic academic community.

Following the formal remarks, the event shifted to a networking session with refreshments, and photo booths were available for participants.

MGES used the event as an opportunity to outline upcoming student engagement and career development activities, including the Postgraduate Student Ambassador Programme, a professional portrait session, and company visits to leading employers. These initiatives are intended to support students’ integration, networking, and career readiness during the semester.
