HKBU School of Business hosted its Alumni Gathering 2026 on 22 May 2026 at the Hopewell Hotel, bringing together over 200 participants [1] for an evening of celebration and reconnection. This year’s event held special meaning, marking HKBU and the School's 70th anniversary, and offering a chance to reflect on the shared journey between the School and its growing alumni community.
Professor Zhang Han, Dean and Chair Professor of the School, delivered
welcome remarks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to alumni for their continued dedication. “Thank you for your time, for your expertise, and your firm belief in what HKBU Business School stands for. Because of you, our community is more connected, more generous, and more vibrant than ever,” said Professor Zhang. The President of the School of Business Alumni Association (SBAA), Mr Stephen Yung, also delivered remarks. He highlighted the fruits of the SBAA’s efforts, celebrated past achievements, and outlined exciting upcoming initiatives that will further contribute to the vibrant alumni community.
In addition, Dr Liu Jing, Assistant Dean (Outreach and Engagement), shared a forward-looking message with alumni during the networking session, calling on them to sustain their involvement and support as the School enters its next stage of development.
The evening featured a thank-you video, an alumni talent show, and networking activities that gave attendees the opportunity to reconnect with fellow graduates and faculty members.
The School extends its sincere gratitude to all who attended and looks forward to
strengthening this bond through new programmes, initiatives, and opportunities in the years to come. As the School steps into its next chapter, the alumni community will remain central to shaping a business school that creates lasting impact.
