Dr Man Ko, Senior Lecturer and Associate Head (Teaching), Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance (AEF), HKBU School of Business, has been appointed by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) as a mentor for the inaugural 2026-27 HKICPA Qualification Programme (QP) Student Mentorship Programme. The Programme, an HKICPA initiative to develop future accounting professionals, pairs nearly 80 mentors with QP students for a 12-month journey of learning and professional growth.

Dr Ko, a Fellow Member of HKICPA, Accountant Ambassador, mentor in HKICPA Mentorship Programme for professional accountants and a longstanding contributor to the QP, attended the launch ceremony on 17 July 2026, where he met with fellow mentors and mentees. During the event, he shared insights from his extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate accounting courses and coaching both accounting and non-accounting students through the internship programme to become certified public accountants.

“It’s an honour to mentor future accounting professionals,” Dr Ko stated. “I look forward to supporting these students and bringing back new insights to our students.”

His appointment reflects the School’s commitment to developing capable, industry-ready graduates and strengthening its ties with professional communities. By actively supporting HKICPA’s mission, the School continues to create more opportunities for students, enhance their career prospects, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the accounting profession.
