From 2–3 April 2026, HKBU School of Business organised a two‑day immersive study tour to Dongguan for 30 BBA students, offering first‑hand exposure to understanding sustainability, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and regional innovation in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The tour was supported by the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee’s Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office to provide insights into technology development and cross‑border collaboration.

Students visited the Dongjiang‑Shenzhen Water Supply Project Memorial Park to learn about the regional infrastructure and engaged in academic exchange at Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT). To experience innovation in practice, they toured the Dongguan Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Group Company Limited, the ESG‑focused Huawei Ox Horn Campus in Songshan Lake, and the Dongguan Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials (CEAM). In addition, a seminar in the Songshan Lake District introduced government initiatives and resources available to Hong Kong youth in the GBA.

This experiential learning initiative reflects the School’s commitment to cultivating a cross-border outlook and equipping students with the knowledge and perspectives needed to address sustainability and innovation challenges in the 21st century.
