HKBU School of Business Celebrates a New Chapter in Business Mentorship Programme

On 9 February 2026, HKBU School of Business marked a significant milestone for its Business Mentorship Programme, honouring its inaugural graduating cohort and welcoming the new class of mentors and mentees. This event showcased the unwavering commitment of the School to foster connections between esteemed business mentors and its students, reinforcing a vibrant business community.

The 9-month Business Mentorship Programme pairs each mentor with two to three meticulously selected mentees. The core objective is to promote personal and professional growth, expand knowledge, and foster essential networking opportunities with distinguished mentors.

The evening featured welcome remarks from Professor Zhang Han, Dean of the School of Business, who expressed gratitude to the new mentors, originating from diverse fields, including consulting, cryptocurrency, retail, and renewables, for their invaluable time and expertise. He highlighted that the human connections fostered through mentorship are irreplaceable, adding essential value to students' growth. Professor Zhang extended sincere thanks to Mr Kevin Liem, CFA CPA, members of the Business Advisory Committee, and all dedicated mentors, whose guidance has helped students clarify their career visions.

A special thank-you video, showcasing heartfelt interactions and shared gratitude between mentors and students from the past year, honoured the dedication of the mentors and the remarkable progress made by the 2024/2025 mentee cohort.

The evening included a delightful dinner and a unique "Back to the Future" session designed to enhance interaction among mentors and mentees. As the programme steps into its second year, the School remains committed to nurturing a strong, connected business community.

In closing, Mr Ryan Man, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies), shared the mission and impact of the mentorship programme, highlighting the massive support from the School's valued industry partners and networks. As the programme evolves, it continues to foster career-focused professional development and nurture future-ready business leaders.
