Students accepted to the double degree collaboration with the University of Navarra (UNAV) in Spain can choose to attend the following UNAV's programmes, for an additional one-year, after completing their studies at HKBU:

  • Master in Economics and Finance (MEF)
  • Master in Banking and Financial Regulations (MBFR)

Upon completion, students can earn the Master of Science (MSc) degree from HKBU, as well as the MEF or MBFR degree from the UNAV.

This is a 1+1 years taught postgraduate programme for full-time TPg business students at HKBU to acquire an additional Master in Economics and Finance (MEF) or a Master in Banking and Financial Regulations (MBFR) from UNAV. Students are required to complete their respective one-year MSc programme at HKBU before proceeding with their studies at UNAV.

Internship is mandatory for the Master in Banking and Financial Regulations (MBFR) programme of UNAV. Students are required to fulfil the internship requirement with at least 675 working hours, physically or virtually. For the Master in Economics and Finance (MEF) programme of UNAV, there is no internship requirement.

UNAV's Master in Economics and Finance (MEF)

Full-time HKBU taught postgraduate students having completed one of the following programmes:

  1. MSc in Applied Economics (MScAECON)
  2. MSc in Business Management (MScBM)
  3. MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance (MScCGC)
  4. MSc in Data Analytics and Business Economics (MScDABE)
  5. MSc in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) (MScFTFA)
  • Semester/ Trimester 1 GPA 3.30 or above in their MSc programme at HKBU
  • Good command of English (TOEFL iBT score of 87/ IELTS 6.5 or above) – A TOEFL/ IELTS test is not necessary if the student has followed their studies in English
UNAV's Master in Banking and Financial Regulations (MBFR)

Full-time HKBU taught postgraduate students having completed either:

  1. MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance (MScCGC)
  2. MSc in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) (MScFTFA)
  • Semester/ Trimester 1 GPA 3.00 or above in their MSc programme at HKBU
  • Good command of English (TOEFL iBT score of 90/ IELTS 6.5 or above) - A TOEFL/ IELTS test is not necessary if the student has followed their studies in English

For receiving the additional MEF or MBFR degree from UNAV, HKBU taught postgraduate business students who are accepted to the programme shall directly enrol in UNAV by paying UNAV's tuition fees with a 50% discount. The discounted tuition fee for academic year 2024/25 are:

MEF Tuition Fee for AY 2024/25
  • *8,000 EUR (approx. HK$68,514) after the 50% deduction
  • *MEF students may get the “Grow with MEF Scholarship” to further reduce the tuition fee to 3,200 EUR (approx. HK$27,406) after an 80% deduction
MBFR Tuition Fee for AY2024/25
  • 12,450 EUR (approx. HK$106,626) after the 50% deduction

Interested full-time TPg business students need to submit their application to the Global Engagement Section of the School. The application deadline is 31st January each year.
