The direct involvement of alumni is vital, both to support the development of the School, but also to help students, graduates and fellow alumni in a practical manner.
There are several ways for our alumni to support the School, including, but not limited to:
We encourage alumni to come to the School and to engage with students, either by offering industry insights and career advice, or by sharing personal experiences and stories. Alumni are also invited to act as speakers or panellists in various activities ranging from guest lectures, conferences, student competitions or industry panels.
The School’s objective is to develop a lifelong relationship with its graduates. One important way of achieving this goal is by providing, in addition to a quality business education, the opportunity for students to discuss their individual goals, ambitions or career prospects with an experienced professional that also share the ethos of the University. We believe that this meaningful role can be perfectly filled by our alumni.
The School offers many opportunities for alumni to volunteer, ranging from discussing with prospective students at recruitment events, participating in fundraising activities, and even being featured in our alumni stories and video interviews.
Donations are always welcomed. Please refer to Support our School for details.
The HKBU Alumni Affairs Office makes every effort to strengthen the valuable bonds between the alumni and the University by cultivating links with them and involving them in institutional as well as alumni programmes and activities. Activities ranging from alumni awards, reunions, seminars and many many more are arranged throughout the year. The office also keeps a centralised alumni record that facilitate contacts and networking accross all faculties and schools at HKBU.
The Alumni Corner, a regular feature of the School e-Newsletter, helps alumni stay in touch with each other and with the School, wherever they may live. By posting pictures, sharing stories and circulating news about their careers, lives or achievements, alumni directly contribute to sustain the "esprit de-corps" for which the School is known for. To post your story, share your pictures or propose new ideas, please contact the External Relations Section
Our alumni are passionate about staying connected with their alma mater, and we are pleased to work with them in maintaining the special connection we have with our graduates. In addition to the HKBU Alumni Association, which is the university’s main alumni association, graduates remain connected with the Business School and fellow business alumni through a network of department and programme-specific alumni associations. Each department has its own alumni association, while postgraduates also have their own association. There is also a corporate governance association.
We are keen for you to join any of these, and to maintain the family spirit that defines our school.
