The HKBU School of Business’s signature IIBD International Case Competition returned with the theme of the year being “Educating the World”. The School announced the winner and runners-up of the 2021 IIBD International Case Competition at the final round on the HKBU campus on 5 November 2021. A team of four members from Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia was crowned Champion.
The two runners-up were Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and the Ivey Business in Canada, respectively. Miss Alya Shafira Mashuri from the Universitas Gadjah Mada was named the Best Presenter.
The five finalist teams, coming from Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mainland China and the Philippines, presented their recommendations based on a business case to the panel of judges online, after four hours of research, analysis and developing an action plan.
Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Associate Dean (Internationalisation) of the HKBU School of Business, thanked the teams’ dedications and the judges’ sharing. “The theme of this year’s competition especially echoes with the School’s mission – nurture ethical leaders with global vision. The world needs more ethical leaders and leaders who care. Business should be more than just making profits but to bring social impacts as well. We hope by participating in this competition, students could be able to think more about how they could help the world and make a difference to society.”
