img The HKBU School of Business announced the winner and runners-up of the 2019 IIBD International Case Competition at the final round on the HKBU campus on 1 November 2019. A team of four members from the University of the Philippines scooped the Gold award.
The two runners-up were the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and the National University of Singapore respectively. Miss Annicka Kelsey Koteh from the Ateneo de Manila University was named the Best Presenter.
Organised by the HKBU School of Business, the competition, themed “Feeding the World”, brought five finalist teams of elite students and faculty supervisors to compete in the final round. The teams, coming from Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore and the Philippines, were required to come up with a strategy for Coronilla, a certified Bolivian organic agri-processor that offers a complete line of gluten-free snacks and pasta, which is facing ever-growing competitions in the no-longer niche “gluten-free” market.
Prof. Ed Snape, Dean of the HKBU School of Business, welcomed the teams. “Since we began this competition, the objective has been to bring in internationalisation to the education of the HKBU School of Business. This allows our students to exchange ideas with their global counterparts, and I am sure our partners share the same vision.”
IIBD International Case Competition is a global business case competition that has been organised by the HKBU School of Business since 2008. Over 200 teams from leading universities from all over the world have competed for the championship. This year, the first round of the Competition was conducted in June, which attracted teams from 43 Universities from across 19 countries.
