The Master of Science in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics) [MScFTFA] programme and four students and graduates from Hong Kong Baptist University were recognised at the IFTA FinTech and Innovator Awards 2022/23. The award presentation ceremony was conducted on 25 September 2023 at the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

The MScFTFA programme was named the ‘Honorary FinTech Education & Talent Development Award – Diamond”, for its dedication to promote the importance of FinTech planning in Hong Kong and provide pro-bono FinTech education to the public.

The ‘Star in the Making’ award recognises undergraduate and postgraduate students for innovative projects or ideas that could positively transform the FinTech industry. Lee Yuk Ching (BBA Finance, ‘22), Liu Junkang and NUNAYON Medeba Samuel (MSc in Applied Accounting and Finance), and Ayazhan Kadessova (BSc in Computer Science) were awarded for their respective projects leveraging technology to create innovative financial solutions for different purposes.

In its fifth edition this year, IFTA has selected “Game Changers: The Rise of Next Gen FinTech” as the theme of the Awards in response to the wide uptake of artificial intelligence and chatbot technology, with the aim of honouring individuals and teams who have fuelled the development and adoption of FinTech, and motivating innovations essential to drive Hong Kong into a new FinTech era.
