HKBU School of Business’ fintech programme & students recognised at IFTA Fintech and Innovation Awards

img The HKBU School of Business has attained impressive results at the IFTA Fintech and Innovation Awards 2021/2022, with three students and the Master of Science in Finance (Fintech and Financial Analysis) programme (MSc FTFA) being awarded for their innovations and contributions to drive fintech developments in Hong Kong. An award ceremony was hosted on 29 September 2022.

The Msc FTFA programme received the Diamond Award in Honorary Fintech Education & Talent Development Awards category. It was applauded for its efforts to spearhead the development of fintech education in Hong Kong, the forward-thinking curriculum structure, the high-practicality and the recognitions it offers students.

Prof. Aris Stouraitis, Programme Director of MSc FTFA, said, “We are honoured to be recognised by the industry-leading organisation. With our teaching team comprised of academic faculty and industry practitioners, we are committed to nurturing visionary business leaders with profound understanding of the rapidly changing financial and technological landscapes to meet the ever-increasing market demands for such talents.

Three students and graduates from the HKBU School of Business were also named ‘Star in the Making’, with Kar Yan YEUNG (MScCGC, 2021) winning the Excellence award, and Mathias AWUNI (MScFTFA, 2021) and Hejian MA (BBA in ISEM/FINE, Year 4) receiving the Merit awards.

Themed “Two Worlds, One Goal: The Virtualisation of Reality” this year, the Awards, now in its fourth year, recognise the important nuances of the parallel physical and virtual worlds, as well as, the role that corporations and individuals play in their development within the economy.
