Business Students Win Social Entrepreneurship Competitions

img BBA students teamed up and won two open entrepreneurship competitions with their innovative business ideas for social good.

In the Social Innovation+ competition, organised by social enterprise Education for Good, So Kin Fung (BBA Information Systems and e-Business Management, Year 4), Helen Lee Hoi Wah (BBA Marketing, Year 4) and Fung Sum Yi (BBA Marketing, Year 4) scooped the top prize with their social innovation business model that integrated the use of design thinking and fintech. The team was awarded a cash prize of HK$30,000, and internship opportunities in the Mainland or overseas with the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

In another competition, A. Entrepreneur Adventure Programme, organised by New World Development Company Limited, So Kin Fung and Helen Lee Hoi Wah teamed up with students from other universities, and came up with the idea of an Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare platform, addressing the needs of the ageing population in Hong Kong. The team won a cash prize of HK$50,000 and job opportunities in the New World Group.
