img A team of four postgraduate students from the HKBU School of Business successfully secured a Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (Professional Stream) grant of HK$100,000 under the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP). The team will use the grant over six months to produce proof of concept and prototypes for their project to improve financial services.

Ai Xu, Kar Yan Yeung, Tsz Yan Ng and Chan Zheng from the MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance programme formed the “CHAIN GREEN” team to present their winning idea of a high-tech solution to address the pain points of existing ESG (environment, social and governance) indexes and to improve the user experience. With the growing importance of ESG issues across many sectors, the team aims to help corporations to develop sustainable businesses.

“ESG has been neglected in company development, especially in Asian markets, we see great potential and an urging need to develop ESG related services,” suggested the team. “As a student in corporate governance, we hope that every business entity operates in a sustainable environment with a harmonious relationship with stakeholders.” The team gave special thanks to their coach Ms. Queenie Lee, Lecturer of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences and Associate Director of the MSc Finance (Fintech & Financial Analysis).
