HKBU School of Business received donations of HK$500,000 and HK$300,000 respectively from alumni Mr. Wong Nga Chung, President of Nakagawa Electronics Limited and Honorary University Fellowship of HKBU, and Mr. Dickson Shang, Honorary University Fellowship of HKBU, for outgoing exchange scholarships for BBA students. A Thanksgiving Ceremony was conducted on 5 March 2021 in recognition of Mr. Wong’s and Mr. Shang’s unwavering support to the School and its students.

Prof. Ed Snape, Dean of the School of Business, expressed his gratitude for the alumni’s devotion and generosity to their alma mater. “Both NC and Dickson have been our long-standing alumni supporters, and we are really thankful to them. Exchange scholarships are really important. When our students return from their semester abroad, they are much more confident and outgoing, and the experience really provides them with a global perspective. Support from alumni is especially important during these challenging times, as it helps provide a more promising future for our students.”

The scholarships, namely “Wong Li Yuk Ying Exchange Scholarship for BBA Students” and “Dickson Shang Outgoing Exchange Scholarship for BBA Students”, support distinguished BBA students in financial need to gain international exposure at one of our overseas partner universities. Every year, one to six students will be awarded the scholarships, each up to HK$20,000, subject to their achievements, exchange durations and destinations.
