BBA students win financial planner award

Four BBA students, CHENG Kiu Fung, Keith (Finance), WANG Yuan, Sky (Accounting), YIU Cheuk Fung, Steven (Applied Economics) and YU Xinhao, Jack (Accounting), claimed second runner-up in the SCMP/IFPHK Financial Planner Awards 2015.
The winning team would like to express sincere thanks to coach Dr. Astrophel Choo from the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences and presentation advisor Mr. Lam Sui Wah of the Department of Management.
“Dr. Choo guided us to think in different angles when studying a case,” said Steven, “We made use of the skill learnt and provided multi-angle recommendations for the case, which impressed the panel of judges and brought us the success.”
“Effective presentation made help us say the right words at the right time,” added Keith, “Thanks Mr. Lam for spending great efforts in polishing our presentation skill. It would be a life-long asset to all of us.”
The SCMP/IFPHK Financial Planner Awards is jointly organised by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) and the South China Morning Post (SCMP). It provides a platform for students to gain industry-wide recognition and reinforce their career aspirations. Seven teams from local tertiary institutions participated in the competition this year.
