They were awarded the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund of HK$100,000 to continue developing their fintech project.

Wing Sum Chan (BBA Marketing, ‘20), Kin Ting Ho (BBA Entrepreneurship and Finance, ‘20) and Chi Man Chan (Department of Computer Science, ’20) teamed up as FOODCHAIN to represent HKBU at the competition. “The team has successfully integrated ‘fintech X foodtech’ and come up with the FOODCHAIN idea, and the award will help them to refine the idea for further developments,” said Ms. Queenie Lee, Lecturer of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences, Associate Director of MSc Finance (Fintech & Financial Analysis) and the team’s mentor at the competition.

The Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) aims to unleash participants’ full potential and to help them gain insights into the global market. This fintech-focused entrepreneurship programme offers students, nominated by CUPP university partners of Cyberport, a unique chance to participate in an Entrepreneurship Boot Camp overseas and receive mentorship from industry leaders.
