img The Master of Science in Applied Accounting and Finance programme of the HKBU School of Business is now an Accredited Degree Programme of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). MScAAF graduates can become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA (Practicing) in Hong Kong in as early as 3-4 years after graduation.

“The MScAAF programme combines the best of both worlds in applied finance and accounting and is unique in Hong Kong,” said Dr. Weiqiang Tan, Programme Director of the MScAAF programme, “this recognition by the HKICPA can further provide our graduates with a fast and direct path to become a CPA in Hong Kong and overseas.”

With the HKICPA accreditation, MScAAF graduates are qualified for exemption from up to the maximum of all ten Associate Level Modules of the New Qualification Programme (QP), depending on the courses they take during the programme. Upon completion of the New QP, HKICPA members are also then eligible for direct membership admission to a number of overseas institutions, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), Chartered Professional Accountants Canada (CPA Canada), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
