HKBU School of Business hosted the Research Happy Hour on 26 April 2023 for scholars from the School’s different disciplines and other institutions to meet new people, catch up with colleagues and exchange ideas about their research. The happy hour event is a regular initiative to be hosted on campus for inspiring new ideas and nurturing transdisciplinary research collaborations over drinks and snacks.

Dr. Matthew Li, Associate Professor from the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems, shared his recent study on the impacts of self-donations in crowdfunding projects, where Dr. Sibo Liu, Assistant Professor from the Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance, gave a flash talk on his interesting project of building a database of researchers using topological methods. Prof. Choon Ling Sia from City University of Hong Kong, and Dr. Dong Zhang from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, joined the event as guest discussants and provided valuable suggestions from journal reviewers’ point of view to refine the projects. Dr. Man Nok Wong from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also participated and exchanged ideas with the School’s scholars.
