Admission Scholarships for International Students

Our full-time one-year business postgraduate programmes are now open to international applicants for the 2021 intake (programmes commence in September 2021). Our admission scholarships listed in this webpage are designed to bring together talent from around the world and maximise diversity in the classroom. Competition for scholarships increases as the year progresses, so we recommend starting your application early.

Furthermore, in addition to the admission scholarships listed below, each programme may offer various graduation awards, course scholarships, business start-up awards and/or other merit-based awards at the time of graduation. International Postgraduate Scholarship (IPS)

Details

HKBU School of Business is dedicated to student success across the world. The International Postgraduate Scholarship (IPS), covering full tuition waiver plus living allowance of approximately US$12,800, is a merit award for international students (with nationality outside Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong) with all-round excellence admitted to one of our 8 selected full-time one-year taught postgraduate business programmes:

  • MSc in Applied Accounting & Finance
  • MSc in Applied Economics
  • MSc in Business Management
  • MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance
  • MSc in Data Analytics and Business Economics

Note: The admission committee of each programme will evaluate each application thoroughly based on all the information submitted in the online application as well as applicant’s interview and/or written test performance. Please note that the International Postgraduate Scholarship (IPS) is a competitive scholarship for highly-qualified international students. The programme office may offer a scholarship other than the IPS, or even no scholarship, to an admitted international student.

MAcc Diversity Contribution Scholarship

Details

The MAcc Diversity Contribution Scholarship, worth up to full tuition waiver, is awarded to new entrants who can enhance the diversity of the programme. Applicants are assessed on a broad range of criteria, including international exposure, cultural experiences, overseas education, work experience, special achievements and talents etc.

HKBU Alumni Entrance Award

Details

The HKBU Alumni Entrance Award aims to encourage our HKBU bachelor’s degree graduates to pursue continuous learning. This award is worth HK$8,000 and is available for up to two top alumni admitted to the MHRM programme (both full-time and part-time modes), who have the highest cumulative GPA in the undergraduate study.

Eligibility:

  • HKBU bachelor’s degree alumni;
  • Limited to the top two alumni with the highest cumulative GPA in their undergraduate study; and
  • Overall degree standing should not be lower than Second Class Honours Division I.

MScAAF Diversity Contribution Scholarship

Details

The MScAAF Diversity Contribution Scholarship is awarded to new entrants who can enhance the diversity of the programme. Applicants are assessed on a broad range of criteria, including international exposure, cultural experiences, overseas education, work experience, special achievement and talents. The scholarship amount ranges from half tuition waiver to full tuition waiver.

Details

These Scholarships, ranging from HK$20,000 to HK$80,000, will be provided to full-time students with outstanding academic backgrounds and public examination results. For the entrance scholarship, only applicants who have submitted the completed applications before the first-round admission deadline will be considered.

Details

The MScAEcon Entrance Scholarship, worth up to full tuition waiver, will be offered each year to the most outstanding applicants. Only applicants who have submitted all required supporting documents on or before the first-round admission deadline will be considered.

Details

HK$25,000 or HK$50,000 each will be granted for students with GMAT score of 650 or above, or 700 or above respectively.

Lifelong Learning Award

Details

Graduates (with an associate degree or above) of HKBU, School of Continuing Education-HKBU or Beijing Normal University-HKBU United International College are entitled to this Lifelong Learning Award of HK$10,000 if they are admitted to the MScEGM programme. This award will be issued by the Department of Marketing of HKBU in Semester 2.

Scholarship

MScGMM Global Exposure Award

Details

MScGMM applicants with global exposure can apply for the MScGMM Global Exposure Award. There will be a maximum of five awardees per year, with each awardee receiving HK$40,000. Applicants will be assessed by a panel based on their extent and degree of multicultural experience, including but not limited to international education and working experiences, as well as participation in prominent international organisations or events. The result will be announced before Semester 1 starts and will be awarded by the end of Semester 2.

Details

Graduates (with an associate degree or above) of HKBU, School of Continuing Education-HKBU or Beijing Normal University-HKBU United International College are entitled to this Lifelong Learning Award of HK$10,000 if they are admitted to the MScGMM programme.
