Career Service Centre

The Postgraduate Programme Office (PPO) works with the School’s Career Services Section to help business students manage their career development. In addition to the customized industry seminars and corporate visits hosted by the Postgraduate Programme Office, the Career Services Section offers professional career development advice that includes one-on-one career coaching for full-time master’s business students, and organizes business skills enhancement workshops and networking events.

Career Centre, Office of Student Affairs

The Career Centre, acting as a bridge among students, academic staff and employers, aims to facilitate students’ career development and job search. Staff of the Career Centre have established strong links with students’ prospective employers to keep abreast of the current employment market situation. It offers two distinct programmes for Taught Postgraduates:

Career Advancement Scheme for Taught Postgraduates (CAST)

It is an interactive career development programme adapted to personal needs and career interests. It includes self-exploration workshops, job search skills trainings, individual consultation by professionals in different industries, networking events, etc.

Programme Level

The Department of Marketing is also connected to alumni: we have a Career Mentorship Programme that links students with our prestigious alumni and advisors to offer regular guidance on our programmes. Such connections with the business community ensures that our programmes are kept up to date, with contemporary issues such as globalization, e-marketing, CSR and other issues reflected throughout the curriculum.

Employment opportunities in Hong Kong for Non-local Graduates of MScGMM Programme (IANG Scheme)

According to the HK immigration guidelines (Immigration Arrangement for Non-local Graduates “IANG”), non-local graduates of the programme may apply to stay and work in Hong Kong for 12 months after obtaining bachelor/master qualified degree.

Immigration Arrangement for Non-local Graduates (IANG)

Non-local graduates who apply for IANG within six months after the date of graduation (i.e. the date of graduation shown on the school letter) are classified as fresh graduates. Fresh graduates may apply to stay and work in Hong Kong without having secured an offer of employment upon application.

Note: The IANG is quota-free and non-sector specific. The IANG does not apply to nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba, Laos, Korea (Democratic People's Republic of), Nepal and Vietnam.
