The annual IIBD International Case Competition hosted by the HKBU School of Business was completed successfully on 3 November 2023. With this year’s theme “Technology for a Sustainable Future”, the Competition drew teams from 38 universities in 20 countries and regions to join the first round conducted in June.
Both Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and Mahidol University International College in Thailand won the Gold Prizes this year. The Bronze Prize went to RMIT University in Vietnam. Miss Pimra PHROMCHANA from Thammasat University in Thailand named the Best Presenter.
The five finalist teams of outstanding students were from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. After four hours of research, analysis and action plan development, they presented their innovative recommendations based on a business case to the judges at the final round held on the HKBU campus.
Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Associate Dean (Internationalisation) of the HKBU School of Business, thanked the teams' dedication and the judges' sharing. "I would also like to thank the dedicated teams and the judges for their valuable contributions and insights. By participating in this Competition, students can exchange ideas and contemplate how they utilise technology to build a sustainable future in the real business world."
The judging panel were Mr. Leo Chiu, Chief Technology Partner of Click Ventures, Mr. Tommy Kwan, Head of Sales and Business Development of Cornerstone Technologies Holdings Limited, Dr. Dhanada Mishra, Managing Director of RaSpect Intelligence Inspection Limited, Mr. Rajendra Shroff, Director of Applied AI Research of Blu Artificial Intelligence, as well as Mr. Garry Yu, Director of Private Equity Asset Management of Gaw Capital Advisors Limited.
IIBD International Case Competition is a global business case competition organised by the HKBU School of Business since 2008. Over 200 teams from leading universities from all over the world have competed.
