The BBA Summer Day Camp 2024 sparked a surge of creativity and empathy, bringing together nearly 40 high school students from 18 schools for an immersive exploration of social innovation and sustainable business practices.

Held on 17th – 18th July, 2024 and led by the BBA Office, the camp offered a glimpse into university life while fostering creativity and empathy among participants. Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies), Mr. Ryan MAN delivered lectures on sustainability, highlighting how businesses can contribute to achieving the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students also delved into the design thinking model introduced by Associate Director (BBA (Hons)), Dr. Lucia FUNG, and honed their pitching skills with insights from Ms. Joyce KONG, Lecturer II and Coordinator, BBA (Hons) Strategic Retail Management & Innovation Concentration.

A standout feature of the camp was a transformative interactive workshop organised with CAPALA Limited. Students collaborated with visually impaired individuals through various tasks, gaining firsthand insights into their daily challenges. This interaction turned empathy into actionable insights for social good. Following the insightful session, students worked in teams to pitch innovative solutions to a panel of judges, broadening their perspectives and inspiring a new wave of creative thinking and empathy-driven action.

The summer day camp culminated in a high-table dinner featuring Dr. CA TSE, a prominent social entrepreneur. His inspiring words resonated deeply with the attendees, emphasising how passion and empathy can drive transformative change.
