HKBU School of Business Shines in the 32nd China MBA South China Alliance Summit

Dr. Monique Shui-Ki WAN, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Studies) and the Director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and MSc Business Management (MScBM) programmes at the HKBU School of Business, was invited to attend the 32nd China MBA South China Alliance Summit as a keynote speaker. The Summit, themed "Elite Gathering, Digital Economy in the Greater Bay Area," attracted over 300 business leaders, scholars, educators, and MBA students from across the country.

During the Summit, Dr. WAN delivered an insightful presentation titled “Exploring  Generative AI: Opportunities and Challenges”. She provided guests with an in-depth understanding of the latest technology through a thorough analysis of business applications and ethical considerations during the developmental stage. Her presentation shed light on the potential opportunities and obstacles that arise in the realm of generative artificial intelligence. Besides, Prof. Leo HO, Professor of Practice at the HKBU School of Business, joined Dr. WAN in the MBA Dean Forum, where they shared their valuable experiences and perspectives on MBA education in Hong Kong. contributing to a wide-ranging discussions on shaping and enhancing MBA programmes.

Furthermore, Dr. WAN and Prof. HO were honoured with the prestigious "Most Popular MBA Teachers in the South China Region" award, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field.  Moreover, our MBA students and alumni received a total of twelve awards at the Summit, including the "Most Popular Alumni in the South China Region," "MBA Top 10 Contributions in the South China Region," and "Outstanding Alumni Leader in the South China Region," among others.

The China MBA South China Alliance Summit was established in April 2006 and is the earliest regional alliance for MBA communities in China. Its mission is to serve MBA universities and students in South China region, foster connections among universities in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and cultivate a communication platform between the South China region and the other university alliances in China. As of January 2024, the alliance consists of 20 universities and 22 colleges, with Mr. FAN Jiaqi, the President of the HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association, serving as the current Chairman of the alliance.
